Lisa Horn, CAS, is founder and chief content officer of Content Matters, where she writes about and teaches courses on content marketing, publishing, publicity and social media. An 18-year promotional products industry veteran, Horn works with a number of suppliers, distributors and service providers, consulting on their publicity, catalog and social media efforts.
Prior to launching Content Matters in 2008, Horn spent nearly 10 years on the staff of Promotional Products Business (PPB) magazine, with seven years as editor. She got her start in the promotional products industry in 1994 as an account executive with Dallas, Texas-based distributor Zimmerly & Co., Inc.
A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Horn holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a major in marketing. She has been an active volunteer with the Dallas Chapter of the Association of Women in Communication, serving as programs chair (1999-2001), president (2001-2002), membership committee member (2009-2010) and communications chair (2010-2011).
She has also been a judge for both the AWC Clarion Awards (1999 and 2010) and the ASBPE Annual Azbee Awards of Excellence (2007) competitions (evaluating magazine feature article categories). Additionally, she has judged the PPAI Supplier Achievement Awards (2008-2010), PPAI Pyramid Awards (2008 and 2010) and PPAI Technology Awards (2011).
