On the fun side: Tonia recently authored and produced the animated and musical picture book, Samuel T. Moore of Corte Magore (Skies America Publishing, July 2013), available on the iPad, and has garnered herself some attention as a bit of a creative tech expert in children’s book apps. In her book, she explores the concepts of perseverance, hard work, bullying, and finding a place to call home for young readers. Samuel T. Moore of Corte Magore is available through the iTunes App Store. Her book is also available on CDBaby in audio and through other media outlets. Tonia is also working on a dramatic and mature subject piece of young adult work of fiction, When it Comes in Threes.
To further the mission of PromoKitchen: I’m a firm believer that mentorship and friendly competition can drive your business forward. Seventeen years is a long time to hang your hat in any industry, and I’ve learned some things along the way, and I’ve got some things to say. I have solid relationships with both suppliers and competitors alike, and I believe that information sharing and education is the impetus to spurring our industry forward.
Favorite promotional product: HoodieBuddie smart garments with built-in, washable earphones, the Ogio Little Big Wheel, and super soft, unisex t-shirts with great graphics.
Favorite musical artist: Oh goodness; I have so many, but if I had to pick one, she would be Adele.
Favorite work attire: A trendy black blazer with a silky chic top, Seven or Hudson jeans with high heels or ankle boots—add a cuff bracelet and I’m ready to jet from day to night.
Year started in the promotional industry: 1993 (Egads! That’s a long time.)
Profession before the promotional industry: I worked for two of the big three photographic & digital imaging studios in Los Angeles as a sales executive.
Things I love: being a mom, power yoga, photography, writing, watching movies, hiking, interior design, pinot noir, aged gouda.
Guilty pleasures: I love following trends in fashion. That means I love to shop.
